Fat Stone Farm Elderberry Seed Oil (for bulk purchase only)
Made from certified organic and transitional organic elderberry - Sambucus nigra spp. Canadensis - pressed here on the farm in Lyme, Connecticut, USA
Custom Pressing
After making each batch of Elderberry Apple Shots we begin the long process of extracting the nutrient-rich oil from our Certified Organic elderberry seeds. We separate the seeds from the skins, clean the seeds, and later press the seeds at a maximum temperature of 105 degrees Fahrenheit (cold press). We do not use solvents during any point of this organic process. In order to provide the freshest oil and maximum shelf life to our customers, we press the seeds only after we receive a firm order. We can also supply clean, dried elderberry seeds in bulk to manufacturers who wish to press the seeds in-house. We do not offer food- or cosmetic-grade seeds or oil at this time.
Elderberry seed oil is rich in fat with high amounts of polyunsaturated fatty acids. (1) We can provide an elderberry seed oil sample and Certificate of Analysis (COA) to qualified bulk purchasers upon request. Please contact Bill directly at bill"at"fatstonefarm.com
Elderberry seed oil’s physical and chemical properties such as antioxidant activity, ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids, and other biochemical constituents make it an oil of interest to cosmetics, medical, and functional-foods industries.
At Fat Stone Farm, we’re pleased to create another unique product from the Certified Organic elderberries that we use to make our Elderberry Apple Shots. In order to do this, Bill spends a great deal of time preparing the elderberry seeds prior to pressing but we believe this chemical-free approach produces an elderberry seed oil of exceptional quality. Please contact Bill for more information, to request a sample or to place a bulk order.
