Stop Wasting That Elderberry -- Tips to get the most from your bottle

Here are my top 5 tips to make every drop count from your Shots, Juice, or Fire Cider bottles.

  1. Don't buy too much. This sounds obvious, but sometimes a customer calls and says she has just found a bottle in the back of her closet, and is it still good? We do package our products so that the per-unit cost declines for larger packs, but it's not worth it if one or two or more bottles have to be thrown away a few years later. Those customers have erased their bulk-purchase savings.
  2. Swish water around the bottle when there's a tiny bit left -- then drink it!
  3. Finding an elderberry routine helps finish every bottle. If you don't want to swig directly from the bottle, here are some great ideas to add elderberry into a daily practice -- add your Shots or Juice to another juice, a breakfast drink, or vitamin powder. Pour it on morning oatmeal, into a smoothie or a make a mocktail before dinner. Here's a link to "Mary's Lakeside Refresher" to get an idea!
  4. Subscribe to our newsletter, it's the only way to get coupons and flash sales notices. The sign up form is on our homepage.
  5. For the Shots, save some of the 9.3 fl oz sized bottles and refill them with the 67 fl oz size. The per-ounce cost is much lower. Store the 67 fl oz size in the freezer and it won't spoil.

Hi Jeannine, all our bottles have the best by date on the bottom. If yours fell off in the meantime, the fire cider has a 4-year life if it’s unopened.

How long does the fire cider last? I found some in the back of my closet it’s probably at least three or four years old.
