What is American Farm Soda?

American Farm Soda is our refreshing twist on traditional soda, made with foods you might find in your kitchen like spices, juices, and maple syrup. Our sodas often feature unique taste combinations like elderberry-cherry, vanilla-maple, and honey-lemon-ginger, dreamt up by Bill and taste-tested on many family and friends. We never use refined sugar or corn syrup. Plus -- they're all USDA Certified Organic!

Why did we name it American Farm Soda? In the thrall of being censored (Bill's Elderberry Research publication "disappeared" from Amazon in 2020), of feeling watched by our own government for no good reason, of losing friends because of medical decisions we made, we hatched American Farm Soda to evoke a little nostalgia for our country, our food, and our community the way we perceived it a long time ago.

Burnt Maple Syrup

One evening in the early 2000s, Bill made some burnt maple syrup. He added it to a seltzer and we all said, wow, that tastes like Cola! I loved it with a dash of lime juice. We realized there's no reason why we couldn't make our own beverage for people to enjoy. We didn't settle on burnt maple syrup as an ingredient because it's too hard to make (really, it is), but ever since then we've been working on a great, minimally-processed beverage.

The Rise of Ultra-Processed Food

From day one, our tagline has been to "Eat Food From the Dirt, Not the Lab." The rise of "foods" which are made in factories using ingredients very, very far from their original form, and which are addictive, cheap, calorie-dense and nutrient-poor concerns us. Our American Farm Soda takes soda back from the big guys who know exactly how to make their beverages addictive, cheap, and tasty using chemicals. They've been doing it for over one hundred years.
